Elena Lentini began performing Middle Eastern Dance in 1969,
dazzling audiences in the New York area. Elena brings to the dance
grace, intensity, unique lyrical focus, and mystery with a commitment to
the integrity of every movement as she sculpts fluid designs with her
body.
For over 30 years Elena has set the standard for Middle
Eastern Dance in this country, both by her
intense artistry and dedication to the form and by her
willingness to experiment with other forms. She has choreographed for
avant-garde theater company Mabou Miines, mounted full evening concerts
with her own companies, mesmerized millions of theater-goers and
inspired thousands of dancers along the way. Elena has taught and
performed throughout the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and most
